Julia and Derek and getting married really soon in weather that will hopefully be a lot better than it was for their engagement session!  For their Calgary Wedding Photography locations, we are planning to use more natural areas, so it was fun to explore a few urban settings while making the most of the weather on that day.  I love it when “bad” weather turns out working really well for portrait sessions.  Calgary winters can be a bit monotoned, so it really helps to use a few urban backgrounds to add some color for some of the photos.  Having said that I do really like how having a background with limited color almost puts a spotlight on the couple.

These two met at university while studying to become Educators and are definitely the kind of people you would want teaching your kids.  I like how easily they smile and I am really looking forward to their wedding in the Calgary Northwest.  They are planning a non-traditional reception with a focus on fun and I can’t wait!
