Fairmont Lake Louise Wedding – Roxane and Shawn
People come from all over the world to see Lake Louise and for a lucky few couples each year they get to say “I do” on the shores with Mount Victoria looming above. Roxanne and Shawn planned their dream wedding at the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and although the weather didn’t cooperate they were still treated to all the magic the lake has to offer. As a Calgary Wedding Photographer I am so appreciative of how close I live to Banff National Park and for the many weddings I get to photograph in the Rocky Mountains. The majority of the couples that end up hiring me after searching for a Lake Louise Wedding Photographer aren’t from this area so in addition to being their photographer, I often have the pleasure of introducing their friends and family to this amazing part of the world.
A rainy forecast would normally be a major issue for the couple on their the wedding day but the bad weather was handled with grace and professionalism by the legendary Lynn Fletcher of LFW. The couple had their heart set on a lakeside ceremony but the weather wasn’t cooperating. Making the decision to move indoors can be a really hard decision for couples hoping for an outdoor ceremony. It’s at times like this where it really pays off to have an experienced planner quarterbacking your day. Lynn’s solution to the rain was awesome. You’ll see it below in the photos.
All planning and decor by LFW. Florals by Occasional Bloom.
The bride and her dad.
Mom putting on the veil.
The groom waiting for the big reveal.
The girls were glued to the window for the reveal. So cute.
It was raining and asking the guests to sit outside for 30 minutes in the rain wasn’t an option so the ceremony was moved indoors. The Mt Victoria Ballroom is a pretty good back up plan!
Lynn Fletcher had the great idea of taking everyone outside after the wedding to redo the vows on the lake. Guest huddled under umbrellas and the bride and groom got to experience the ceremony they had dreamed of.
Throughout the evening we snuck outside for a few photos and to enjoy the amazing calm of the lake after the rain.
