Canmore Wedding Photographers – Alison and Mike’s Fall Wedding
Alison is a Certified Special Event Professional so I knew her wedding would be very well organized. She hired me to do some corporate photography in Calgary a few years prior, so it was nice to hear she was planning her own wedding and looking for a Canmore Wedding Photographer! She and Mike were hoping for an early October wedding in the Rockies and Canmore was their first choice. The biggest issue with planning a mountain wedding at any time of the year is the weather. I have photographed a lot of Canmore and Banff fall weddings over the years and have seen temperatures ranging from -5 to the high 20’s, so you never know what to expect. Sometimes it can be hard to convince couples that it might snow on their fall wedding day 🙂 As I expected, Alison had a great plan in place for her wedding and even though we did get an assortment of weather, it didn’t have an impact on their day at all. Make sure you scroll to the bottom for the big surprise these two had for their guests.
The ceremony and reception were both hosted at Silvertip Resort.

The main hall looked amazing. Great job Lea and Jessica!
After the couples first dance, the guests were asked to step outside for a “group photo”, which really sucked for me because a room full of partially drunk people weren’t thrilled about having to go outside in the light drizzle for a photo. It was actually just a rouse to get the guests outside for a surprise fireworks show. Surprised they were!
Everyone came back inside where DJ Fayyaz got things going and the rest of the night was a lot of fun.
